Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer Advance to the State Quarterfinals

Congratulations to both the Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer teams on winning the 2A North Region 2 Championship! The Lady Mavericks ended a 6 year run of dominance by Sparrows Point with their 1-0 victory at Sparrows Point on Tuesday evening.  They play again this Saturday, November 2 at 2pm against Century High School at Western Regional Park in Howard County (14800 Carrs Mill Road, Woodbine, MD 21723).  The boys’ soccer team defeated Sparrows Point 3-1 on Tuesday evening.  They will travel to La Plata High School (6035 Radio Station Rd, La Plata MD 20646) this Saturday, November 2 for a 5pm contest.  Both games are $6 admission ages 7 and up.  Good luck to both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams and GO MAVERICKS!

MPSSAA Playoffs Have Begun

The post season is in full swing.  Reminder to fans when attending MPSSAA Playoff Events, there is a $6 admission fee for fans age 7 and older through the region championship.  This price increases to $8 in the State Quarterfinals and Semifinals, and increases again to $10 at the State Championship.  For complete brackets use https://mpssaa.countysports.zone/ , select your sport in 2A and follow the playoff run.

Congratulations to David Shannon, BCPS Badminton Bronze Medalist

Senior David Shannon won the bronze medal in the finals of the Baltimore County Badminton Tournament Saturday October 19 at the Carver Center for the Arts and Technology.   He lost his first match to Dulaney HS, but came back strong in the second match vs. Hereford HS to take the bronze.  Senior Chris Tang and Junior Tommy Pelle also played well on Championship Day, but came up a little short vs. Dulaney HS and Towson HS.  Congratulations to all participants and team members for your success this Fall.DShannon-Badminton-bronze

Winter Sports Meet the Coach Night

Mark your calendars, October 14, at 6pm in Gym 1 is the Winter Sports Meet the Coach Night.  If you. or your child, is interested in playing a winter sport – basketball (boys’ or girls’), cheerleading, indoor track, or wrestling – your attendance is a must!  New this Winter, the School Counseling Office will lead a seminar on NCAA Eligibility for all athletes, regardless of grade level, on what they need to know if they have a desire to play at the next level (NCAA Divisions I, II, III, NAIA, or JUCO).
