The Fall Sports Meet the Coach Night is scheduled for June 11th at 6pm. The event will begin in the cafetorium with an overview of the Athletic Department and requirements for participation. Following this introductory meeting, breakout sessions will take place for each individual sport – badminton, cheerleading, cross country, field hockey, football, golf, boys’/girls’ soccer, and volleyball. Additionally, the Eastern Tech Athletic Booster Club will have information available on how to support the student-athletes at Eastern Tech, spirit wear apparel, and volunteer opportunities. The Eastern Tech Mavericks Softball team advances to the state-semifinal with a commanding victory over Gwynn Park Thursday, 20 to 0. Junior Rilee Fazenbaker threw 5 no-hit innings, striking out 4 batters along the way. Seniors Miranda Burton (4 RBI), Abbie Heagy (2B, 3 RBI), and Kendall Pfeifer (2-2, 3B, 2 RBI), along with Sophomores Lena Wondolowski (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI) and Emma Tawney (2-3, 2B, 3 RBI) paced the Mavericks at the plate. The Mavericks will travel to Bachman Park on May 21 to play the winner from the 2A South match-up between Glenelg and La Plata.

On Thursday May 16, eight Maverick athletes celebrated with family and friends their commitments to compete in collegiate athletics. The athletes were Miranda Burton (Softball at Notre Dame of Maryland University), Abigail Heagy (Softball at CCBC Catonsville), Karson Marcellino (Cross Country at CCBC Essex), Isaac Ngobu (Soccer at University of Maryland at College Park), Samantha Tornatore (Soccer and Lacrosse at CCBC Essex), Timothy Walter (Soccer at Methodist University), Alaina Woodard (Cheerleading at Towson University), and Kevin Zarubaiko (Lacrosse at Anderson University). Congratulations to all of our Mavericks!

The Maverick Softball team will host Gwynn Park Thursday, May 16, at 4pm at Eastern Tech. The Mavericks successful run in the playoffs includes victories over Hereford and New Town. Pitching and hitting have been a premium so far, with pitchers Mackenzie Burton (So), Rilee Fazenbaker (Jr), and Olivia Bangs (Jr) limiting the opposition to 2 runs on 4 hits over 10 innings. The offense has accumulated 33 runs on 24 hits, lead by Kristin Toland (2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI), Abbie Heagy (HR, 3 RBI), Sydney Edmond (HR, 2B, 3 RBI), and Lena Wondolowski (2 2B, 3 RBI).
