The MPSSAA shared its lates update on July 28, 2020.  You can find it here .  As of now, Eastern Technical High School and all of BCPS is in the lowest risk stage – virtual coaching only. Fall Sports are postponed per the Superintendent’s announcement on July 21, 2020.  This means we are not starting on August 12, 2020 and are re-evaluating the Fall season.  Practices/tryouts are not to take place, just virtual conditioning and workouts. Fall Sports begin August 12 and it is time to get your body and mind ready!  Each week, the ETHS Athletic Department will post at home workouts for you to recondition and prepare for upcoming tryouts.  Each of these workouts has been programmed with the intention of being something ANYONE could complete in their own living room – aka without any sort of equipment at hand. We will at times recommend the use of household objects like sofas and chairs, or suggest trying to get outside to run, but for the most part everything is doable in the comfort of your own home. Each workout should take about 30 minutes in total, with the Finisher taking anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

This program lists ALL at home workouts in consecutive order. We suggest going in order, but if whatever reason you need to bounce around, you can use the “Change” day to navigate forward or backward.

Being a purely bodyweight workout program, more experienced athletes may be chomping at the bit to add intensity (aka weight) to their sessions. We have tried to outline what options there are available to you with household items within these workouts themselves that allow for the increase in difficulty.

The MPSSAA released it’s Roadmap for Return to Interscholastic Athletics which outlines the path for a return to interscholastic athletics this fall.  It also added a COVID-19 updates page to its website.  One of the announcements in this plan is a new physical exam form which includes a supplementary sheet for pre-participation COVID-19 related questions.  All new physicals need to be completed using the linked form.  If you have a physical prior to July 7, 2020, further information will be announced to account for the supplementary form.  Continue to stay connected to the Eastern Tech Athletic Department by checking our website frequently, and/or following us on Twitter and Instagram @ETHS_Athletics.

This summer, MedStar Sports Medicine will be conducting pre-participation sports physicals.

The cost is free for the 2020 pre-participation physicals.  There will be limited availability for these physicals so please make your appointment early.

*If you or someone you live with was diagnosed with COVID-19, please make an appointment with your primary care provider for your physical as follow-up testing may be recommended.*
